Summit is doing a specialty brew series and I've been looking forward to this new rye, #3 in the series. I'd have to phone in an "Awesome!" It is delicious, and has a unique slight rye flavor but also a bitter but not thin flavor. Rich and delicious, aching for warmer weather but with enough bite to remind you you might just slip on the melting ice on the sidewalk if you are not careful. Perfect time of the year for this one.
Press release here. Summary from the brewmaster: India Style Rye Ale uses specialty rye malts such as Crystal Rye, Chocolate Rye and Flaked Rye, along with 2-row Harrington. The brew contains Summit hops for bittering and Citra hops for aroma. It's also dry hopped with Citra. And American Ale yeast gives the beer a nice, clean flavor.
