public faith for the healing of the nations

today, in morning prayer, the reading was from revelation 22:1-5 and it is a theme-text for the center for faith & culture where i work. miroslav volf, who is the director of the center, said the other day that our shield, and its evoking of this verse by its white page (scripture) and green leaf (the tree of life), remind us of what public faith should be about--we are called into the work of the tree of life, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.
