Sara Miles, author, journalist, deeply real Christian, founder and director of The Food Pantry in San Francisco (where she's pictured working in the photo), is visiting the Twin Cities. She spoke at Edina Lutheran Community Church this evening and she'll be back there tomorrow night as well. Tomorrow, Monday the 23rd, she'll be preaching at chapel and then talking informally over pb&j sandwiches about faith and writing. Her recent book Take This Bread, an excellent memoir of her self-described 'radical conversation' to the Christian faith, came out in 2007. Come if you can, watch on line if you can't--Luther webstreams and then archives chapel services. By the way, I preached last Friday and Flesh Pots of Egypt played (a Luther-based bluegrass band I have the honor of playing with).
Peace,
Chris
