Les Paul, RIP

I haven't been blogging much since I've been on the road traveling a lot this summer and working hard on writing Broken Hallelujahs, my next book.  Funny how when I'm writing a lot on my blog I don't get much written on my book!  Anyway, I couldn't pass up the chance to give thanks for the amazing life of inventor and musical genius Les Paul, whose long life ended last Thursday in New York. Jon Pareles, rock critic for the New York Times, wrote this obituary.  Below is a video of his standing Monday night gig at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York backed by Les's Jersey buddy, Lou "The Man of 1,000 Inversions" Pallo on the LP Black Beauty, Nicki Parrot on bass, and Jon Colliannis on piano.
