Bono's latest editorial from the NYT today highlights the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall and simultaneously the beginning of their recording sessions at the famous Hansa studio. U2 were there to celebrate the event and played a six-song concert from the Brandenburg Gate. Interesting insight into their recording a famous album and 'One' of their most famous songs. Like this great throw-away line about having a prayer meeting in the studio before they got started . . . these guys never cease to surprise me.
"We scan inside the cool cathedral of Hansa, a recording studio made famous by David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Nick Cave. In earlier times, it was a ballroom popular with the Nazis. The members of the Irish band hold a prayer meeting to exorcise the demons. (Seriously.)"
anon and +peace,
